Junior exhibitor members must pay 2 separate membership
dues as applicable to be eligible for:

 
  • Arkansas Junior Sheep Council to receive ABL points.
  • Arkansas Junior Breeding Sheep Council to be eligible for the awards at the state breeding sheep show(s).
 
Mission Statement
To support youth participation and education in sheep husbandry, the Junior Council of the Arkansas State Sheep Council (ASSC) offers an accumulative points program to establish recognition for AJSC members.
 
 
Junior Members
How To Become a Junior Member - AJSC

Step 1:            
Purchase ABL Lamb from a Breeder who is an ASSC Breeder member.  ABL Tag must be in place when exhibitor takes possession.

Step 2:            
Complete the AJSC Membership & ABL Nomination Form and send annual dues of $15 prior to first AJSC Sanctioned Jackpot Show you plan to attend to receive points at that show.  Memberships will not be accepted the day of shows except for the 1st sanctioned show of the season.  All memberships are due by July 31st

Step 3:            
All ABL lambs must be owned by exhibitor by July 1.  ABL Tag must be in place when exhibitor takes possession.  

Step 4:            
Nominate yout ABL Lambs. Complete the AJSC Membership & ABL Nomination Form for all the ABL Lambs to show at district fairs,  AR State Fair or AYE Arkansas Bred Lamb Shows.  Send form and fees of $15 per lamb by July 31st.

Step 5:            
Show! The Summer jackpot series runs all summer. AJSC member exhibitors receive ABL and showmanship points from all sanctioned shows they attend all summer. There is an awards ceremony during the Arkansas State Fair for the series winners. Many awards are given for the top Premier exhibitors, ABL points, Showmanship, Rookie of the Year and High Point Lamb. Some district fairs, the Arkansas State Fair and AYE have Arkansas Bred Lamb Shows.

Please Note - The AJSC Rule Change for membership
This policy was voted in at the 2014 ASSC State Fair meeting.
All exhibitors whom receive prize money or awards sponsored by AJSC and ASSC must have their membership paid before award is given. If you plan to run the show circuit you will need to have your dues paid prior to show. If you don't run the show circuit the deadline for fees is July 31st to be eligible for all fairs.
