  • Arkansas Junior Sheep Council to receive ABL points.
  • Arkansas Junior Breeding Sheep Council to be eligible for the awards at the state breeding sheep show(s).
 
Mission Statement
To support youth participation and education in sheep husbandry, the Junior Council of the Arkansas State Sheep Council (ASSC) offers an accumulative points program to establish recognition for AJSC members.
 

 

2025 AJSC Members
We are excited to announce the 2025 Arkansas Junior Sheep Council Junior Board of Directors. These 12 young folks have volunteered to serve our organization throughout this year. They will serve on committees for fund raising, promotion, community service, and awards. Thank you for being willing to serve AJSC.
How To Become a Junior Member - AJSC
 

Step 1:            
Purchase ABL Lamb from a Breeder by July 1st.  ABL Tag must be in place when the exhibitor takes possession.

Step 2:            
Complete the online AJSC Membership Form and submit annual dues of $15 prior to the first AJSC Sanctioned Jackpot Show you plan to attend.

To be eligible to receive ABL points, membership must be completed online and payment received before your first sanctioned show.

Memberships will not be accepted on the day of shows, with the exception of the first sanctioned show of the season. All memberships are due no later than July 31st.

Step 3:            
Complete the AJSC Membership ABL Nomination Form for each ABL lamb you plan to exhibit at District Fairs, the Arkansas State Fair, or the Arkansas Youth Expo. Submit the completed form along with payment no later than July 31st.

Step 4:   
The Summer Jackpot Series runs throughout the summer. AJSC member exhibitors earn ABL and showmanship points at all sanctioned shows they attend during the series.

Series winners are recognized at the Arkansas State Fair, where numerous awards are presented,
including:

  • Premier Exhibitor
  • ABL Points Champion
  • Showmanship
  • Rookie of the Year
  • High Point Lamb

Several District Fairs, the Arkansas State Fair, and AYE also host Arkansas Bred Lamb Shows.
